Travel Tuesday: 10 Instagram Accounts to Follow to Spark Your Travel Bug

Michaela Meets World started on Instagram, so I thought I would share some of my favorite accounts that inspire me to blog, share my photography and travel the world. Click the usernames or photos to go directly to each user's account and give them a follow!
Liz Carlson is currently based in New Zealand. Her adventures are incredible and her photos are even better. She blogs, gives advice pertaining to getting started in the travel business and she occasionally participates in Instameets! Her Instagram story is also a huge selling point. She constantly adds photos and videos, always keeping her followers updated on her day-to-day adventures.
I just followed Álvaro Faraco within the last few weeks, but I have already been impressed by what I have seen. My favorite thing about his posts is that he includes extremely detailed captions, which delve into the history or customs of the places he is visiting.
#WeAreTravelGirls was founded by Becky van Dijk & Vanessa Rivers as a place for girls to share travel experiences and tips. Can you say #girlpower? Contributors are tagged in each photo, so don't hesitate to give them a follow as well!
Speaking of girl power, @pinktrotters is another network of women dedicated to giving travel tips. They also hold events in various cities, so check out their website to see if there's one near you!
Yes, that Myspace Tom. Apparently Tom Anderson has taken up photography since he left the social network in 2009, and he is darn good at it.
This is another recent follow that I am very excited about. Leo and Steffia are currently traveling through Asia and building a travel journal along the way, all the while giving me a serious case of wanderlust.
Ty Schmitt is the photographer I aspire to be. His photos are seriously otherworldly. You'll just have to follow him to see for yourself.
I have followed Kirsten Alana for a long time and I have lived vicariously through her as she travels to some of the most beautiful destinations in the world. As I type this, she is in Maui soaking up some rays swimming with sea turtles.
When I first decided that I wanted to be a travel photographer, the dream job I always had in mind was working for National Geographic. Well, not much has changed. National Geographic Travel features photos from hundreds of its contributors, who are tagged in each picture and I would highly recommend following too!
This one is exactly what it sounds like: beautiful destinations from all over the world. The account has 8 million+ followers for a reason. The photos are all top-notch and are sure to spark the travel bug within all of us.
BONUS:
Nothing wrong with a shameless plug, right? If you're reading this, there's a good chance that you already follow me, but if you don't, why not? I promise great photography and some gorgeous destinations that you'll want to see for yourself!
