My name is Michaela, and I am the face behind Michaela Meets World! I am a graduate of the University of Florida, where I graduated in 2017 with a Bachelor's degree in journalism, with a focus in photojournalism.

My first camera was a little Canon point-and-shoot that I shared with my sister. I dropped it down a storm drain in Washington, D.C. on the 4th of July back in 2007 while my family and I were waiting out a storm under a small overpass. There were tears.

These days, I'm much more careful with my technology, but I still laugh at how that little girl with butterfingers went on to become a photographer.

I have been fortunate enough to have two incredible opportunities to study in Europe. First, I spent a month in Florence, Italy, and less than a year later I spent five months studying in Dublin, Ireland. During those trips, I traveled as much as I could, which allowed me to do what I love, photography, in some of the most beautiful places in the world. And so, Michaela Meets World was born.

Here at Michaela Meets World you can find photos from my travels, as well as travel tips and tales from my adventures, which can be found on my blog. Be sure to check out the portraits page as well to see some of my sessions with past clients, and maybe you'll decide to book a session of your own!
